Modern British Art

Following the shock of the wars, British art re emerges with a degree of uncertainty and a return to the countryside and more traditional subjects like still life’s. Artists also start to respond to the environment with naive artists and working class and industrial landscapes being popular themes.

As the 60’s dawn, modern British art becomes more liberated and fashion conscious and as we head through the 80’s art starts to look at the fabric of British society leading on to an examination of the human form itself as we bring the timeline up to date.

Our evolving collection seeks to offer works seminal with each of the evolving periods of Post War British Art with examples of work by Paul Feiler and L S Lowry and many other notable artists from the United Kingdom.
